A vision of interstellar chaos and sublime existence
New hope can come in many different shapes, colors, forms, and textures. My creations reference planetary surfaces, interstellar chaos, and sublime existence in time and space and are made of mixed media materials such as modeling paste, spray paint, eco epoxy, acrylic paint, broken glass, stones on canvas, and wood panels.
SpaceX and NASA launched a new era of space exploration. When revolving around the Earth in space, we don’t perceive the lines and the borders as drawn on maps. Instead, Earth, our home, is one entity. Its splendor and fragility become apparent against the vast, black backdrop of space. Even more spectacular is that such a thin atmosphere is what keeps us safe. Viewing the world from space has marked even the most hardened, cynical astronauts. In one direction, they see a dazzling blue, green, and white little ball, and in the other, nothing but endless expansion, imbuing an overwhelming sense of excitement for the future. We all are getting closer to a multi-planetary life experience. We have become a spacefaring civilization.
